The IIMS Montessori 6-9 Diploma Course trains you to teach children aged 6-9 in subjects like Languages, Arithmetic, Geometry, Botany, Zoology, History, Geography, and Astronomy. Dr S Rekha Reddy

Dr S Rekha Reddy is the founder-director of Vidyanjali Academy for Learning, a CBSE school in Bengaluru that has been providing Montessori education since 1992. Rekha is also a founder-trustee of the Indian Institute for Montessori Studies (IIMS).

Dr S Rekha holds a Doctorate from Jain University for her seminal thesis comparing the Play in Montessori and non-Montessori approaches. She has an AMI Montessori pre-primary diploma and a primary diploma from the Indian Montessori Centre. She has worked with children in pre-primary and primary for a decade and has trained Montessori pre-primary and primary teachers since 1998; she has directed three Montessori pre-primary and five Montessori primary diplomas, as well as several Montessori certificate courses and workshops at different schools, helping them to implement Montessori.

Dr SRekha has written books for learning Kannada, English, and Hindi, following the Montessori method for children. She has translated Maria Montessori’s “What You Should Know About Your Child” and Joosten’s booklet “Montessori Movement” into Kannada.

Dr S Rekha has published several research articles and presented at international conferences. She is an avid podcaster and has started the show “Maguvininda Manava” and an audiobook, “Nimma Maguvina Bagge Nimagenu Tilidirabeku.” She has a YouTube channel, “Let’s Talk Montessori.”

Currently, Dr S Rekha is heading the Indian Institute for Montessori Studies as a Director.

Application Process

Applicants should have a Bachelor's Degree in any subject. Some exceptions can be made for people on a case-by-case basis. You need not have Montessori teaching experience or Montessori education to join the course.

Prepare the following documents:

  • You will be invited to Vidyanjali Academy for Learning to get to know the training center.
  • Collect the application form by paying Rs.2000/-

Step 3

Submit the duly filled application to the office with the following documents:

  • Curriculum Vitae with a photographProof of highest qualification
  • Proof of highest qualification
  • Two reference letters
  • One-page essay answering the questions: Why do you want to take the Montessori Teacher Training Course?
  • Preferred payment option

Step 4

  • Online interview

  • Once all the documents are submitted and reviewed, you will be called for an online interview to talk about the course, answer your questions and ensure you have understood the course requirements.

Step 5

If you are accepted to the course, you will be expected to pay the course fee according to your chosen fee option and complete the admission process.
